ReplyDeleteHer analyzation of literary terms/devices for her essay were amazing. She did a good job explaining and backing up her claims. Her creative projects were awesome too. You can tell that she put a lot of time into her drawing and post cards and the craftsmanship of the two was great.

ReplyDeleteThe letter was creative and well thought out, which can be seen in the diction you used and the context of the novel included. The powerpoint was attractive to the eye, and included a lot of context from the novel which shows understanding of the novel, from characters to events or symbols. Also any research done on Zora Neale Hurston was impressive. Overall great job!
Deja: Her speaking was great; the volume and speed were perfect. She provided plenty of information in her Powerpoint and the diction in the letter she wrote was very accurate.

ReplyDeleteThe essay and her letter really focus on diction within the novel which is a huge part of the novel. Her letter was written with the same language the book was written in and it sounded very realistic and could have easily fit in the novel. Her powerpoint was great and I liked how it focused on important aspects of the novel.

ReplyDeleteOutstanding portrait of Janie. The detail and color of everything, from eyes to face to hair, is spot on and very impressive. The found poem is an interesting way of writing a poem. Could have spoken a bit louder or elaborated more on your creative choices.
You should have read your poem! It was very good, and had qualities poems need to be great.

From the timeline, it is clear you read or understood the novel from the details you put in and themes you mentioned (childhood nickname, blossoming, putting hair up). Good voice projection. ReplyDeleteHer essay was very nice she had good explanations of why she chose what she did. Her essay was very thought out and planned and it is very easy to see. Her creative projects were very good too. Her letter to her sister on the book had very nice vocabulary and was easy to understand. her use of the vocabulary was nicely woven into her writing. The other project was a very nice too.

ReplyDeleteI liked the examples that Franny used for her essay. I really liked her letter as it wasn't a letter in the perspective as one of the characters, but is a reflection of the book and how her sister in the army would like it.

ReplyDeleteFrances did a superb job really elaborating why she chose the literary terms/devices she used in her essay and how they were weaved into the book. Her letter to her sister was really creative and I think it is an interesting way to show the understanding of a novel. It's like a persuading book review but with exquisite details of whats to come in the novel. I also think a monologue is another creative way to show the understanding of a novel! Especially in Jody's perspective.

ReplyDeleteHer project was on the colors of Janie's life. It was a very creative project. i like the fact that it was something that no one else would have thought to do. All of the colors were dead on. The explanations went further than just the what was written on the slides. Very good job on everything. The tone of voice was loud and clear, very good job!
The class discussion idea was very good. i give you props for that. awesome! your ideas were fantastic all the way around.
